BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is the UK’s professional body for computing, promoting ethical and competent IT practice for public benefit. With 70,000 members, BCS plays a leading role in shaping national digital policy and professional standards, including AI Assurance. Through certifications like the Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and AI-specific qualifications, BCS ensures its members uphold the highest standards of ethics and accountability. As an active contributor to the AIQI Consortium, BCS supports the development of globally recognised AI Assurance frameworks and is committed to advancing safe, ethical, and collaborative AI governance.

AIQI Member Spotlight -The Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated
The Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (The Cooperation) is the new international organisation formed by the merger of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), two key global authorities in accreditation. Together, they have long championed the global recognition of accredited conformity assessment results across industries and governments. Registered in New Zealand in December 2024, The Cooperation is set to officially launch in January 2026, unifying the missions of ILAC and IAF. It supports the AIQI Consortium’s mission to develop ethical AI standards and encourages its members to engage actively in AIQI initiatives.

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is the UK’s National Metrology Institute, providing the trusted measurement science essential for innovation, safety, and economic growth. As a leader in developing technical measurement standards, NPL plays a key role in shaping AI assurance, supporting the UK’s National AI Strategy, and advancing international collaboration. NPL is developing pre-normative standards and an international AI terminology tool to align understanding across jurisdictions. A founding partner of the AI Standards Hub, NPL works to ensure AI systems are developed, evaluated, and deployed responsibly, making it a vital contributor to the AIQI Consortium’s global assurance efforts.
